In the spirit of the Yuletide, Free Gift International Film and Theatre Ministry will, on Boxing Day, stage an iconic play at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, entitled Roaring Lion.

The play tells the Christmas story amid a community’s struggle against challenges of new viruses, vaccines, lockdowns, quarantines, social distancing and a new world order.

There will be two performances each on December 26 and 27 at 1.30pm and 4.30pm. The first three shows, classified as silver performances, are open to the general public for free once they register to attend or on arrival at the gate on the day

But admission for the last show on December 27 at 4.30pm, classified as gold performance, is strictly by invitation. In Roaring Lion, Bamidele Lawson meets a girl online and seeks to take their relationship to the next level by arranging a physical meeting with her at Christmas. With an ongoing epidemic in the land that threatens to degenerate into a pandemic, his mother is opposed to any such meeting. So, Bamidele seeks the help of a friend to make it happen. However, his perfect plan to meet Tonia slowly begins to unravel lies, deceit and blackmail that threaten to consume the lovebirds.

Written and directed by Ayotunde Yoloye, the play features Banke Amole-Adams, Elijah Edet, Osei Okoduwa, Eric Amole-Adams and a guest appearance by Modupe Adeniran.

Free Gift Ministry has emerged over the years as a model for high impact Christian plays and films that minister the profound truth of God’s word effectively. Its plays had been performed on stage over 1,000 times in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.

The ministry organises iconic theatre performances three times yearly – at Christmas, Easter and Independence celebrations to create an atmosphere where edifying, inspiring and life-transforming stage drama can be viewed by the public during these festive periods.
