Zenith Bank Plc has so far spent about N1b on the reconstruction and routine Christmas beautification of the Ajose Adeogun Street in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The project, which started since 2006 at an original cost of N322m, has seen the bank committing additional funds to actualize what is now a Christmas spectacle in the heart of Lagos’s business district.

The bank said that besides the reconstruction of the 2.6 kilometre road, the job also involved the beautification, landscaping and the provision of streetlights to be powered by the bank’s power source.

It said that though the contract for the road was awarded to a local firm, Palmyra Nig. Ltd., at original cost of N322 million in February, 2006, the bank had to commit more funds to achieve its goal of making Ajose Adeogun the best in Nigeria.
