Church To Celebrate Centenary Anniversary

church-iconTHE St Mary’s Catholic Church Parish, Alor in Idemili South Council of Anambra State, which commenced the task of spreading the gospel in 1914 has fixed October 11, this year to commemorate its centenary anniversary.

According to the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Martin Onukwuba, ceremonies to usher in the event would commence tomorrow with the inauguration of a new parish in addition to the two established earlier.

The high point would be the high mass to be officiated by the archbishop of the Ecclesiastical province of the Catholic Diocese of Onitsha, Valerian Okeke.

Onukwuba however lamented that since his arrival at the parish there has never been any supply of electricity in the area and that he has continued to spend huge sum on fueling generating sets daily.
He therefore called onto the authorities of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to come to their assistance.
