THE National President and Chairman of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Pastor Gabriel Olutola, has described as commendable, the steps taken by President Muhammadu Buhari to restore order and dignity of the country through the fight against corruption and Boko Haram insurgency.

According to Pastor Olutola, Buhari’s fight against corruption and insurgency required the prayers and support of every Nigerian irrespective of ethnic and religious affiliation.

The clergy made the remarks at the weekend during the 80th anniversary of the Kaduna Area Annual Convention with the theme:” Behold God is with us for our captain.”

Represented by the Superintendent of The Apostolic Church, Kaduna Area, Pastor Felix Olotu, Olutola explained that Nigeria was being ruined by corruption in all sectors despite its great potentials.

He said the time has come for Nigerians to intensify more prayers for the country and its leadership while urging the church to join hands to fight immorality and lack of respect for values in the society, especially among the youth.

Olutola, however admonished President Buhari to ensure fairness, justice and equity in the administration of the country, noting that appointments into key positions should be balanced to give all Nigerians a sense of belonging.

Assisted by Pastors James Okon and Joseph Fadipe, while addressing journalists on the yearly convention, Pastor Olotu said it had become imperative for Nigerians to key into the fight against corruption and insecurity for the peace, progress and stability of the country.

His words:” We have to do the needful for this country, nobody will do it for us and government alone cannot solve all the problems. We have been praying here in this church, 365 days in a year, and I can assure you that we shall intensify our prayers and Nigeria shall get to the land of promise.

“We are satisfied by the steps taken so far by the President to fight corruption, insurgency and other social ills in the country. We will continue to pray and call for support for him from all our members. And we want our people to embrace God, and to seek his face. He is the only one capable of solving all problems facing humanity.”
