
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, yesterday, expressed concern over the rising cost of food items in the country, describing the situation as “worrisome and unbearable” for many Nigerians.
He said there is an urgent need for President Bola Tinubu and the state governors to come to the rescue of the masses by providing solutions to the challenge.
In a statement in Osogbo, Oyintiloye said that the cost of basic foodstuff were getting out of the reach of the masses, thus making life difficult.
, the Primate, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Revd. Henry Ndukuba, has called on the Federal Government to ensure an equitable distribution of national resources to enable rural dwellers to benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Ndukuba spoke, yesterday, during the thanksgiving service to mark the 35th anniversary of the Abuja Anglican Diocese.
In his sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Ibadan, Rt. Revd. Joseph Akinfenwa, urged the Federal Government to urgently address the rising cost of living.
Akinfenwa, who acknowledged that the current administration inherited significant challenges, stressed the need for immediate action to relieve the burden on citizens.
