
THE President of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Najiriya (EYN), Rev. Samuel Dante Dali, says the all-out fight against corruption and entrenchment of rule of law embarked upon by President Buhari is a welcome development to redeem Nigeria’s battered image in the international community.
Dali spoke yesterday, while fielding questions from journalists in Jos about his assessment of Nigeria’s image abroad on his return from trip to Europe and America, lamented that the country’s has negative image in the international community.
He said Nigeria is still seen overseas as a nation of terribly religiously fanatical and politically corrupt citizens owing to constant political and religious conflicts and intolerance in the country.
Nigerians, he added, are seen as drug peddlers, Internet fraudsters; its citizens highly insecure far more than citizens of other nations in the world, stressing that because of those vices, Nigerian citizens are often subjected to unwholesome embarrassment at international borders and airports.
On the issue of gay marriage, Dali disclosed President Muhamadu Buhari’s response on the issue in America did not surprise the western world, as according to him, they know that Nigeria is a cultured and religiously uncompromising nation,
