ARCHBISHOP of Lagos Province of the African Church, Revd. Julius Oludotun Ogunseye, has urged the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to improve the living standards of Nigerians, even as he canvassed for peace to reign.
The cleric, who gave the advice, while speaking with journalists during the commemoration of the fourth biennial provincial congress of the church, at the weekend in Lagos, cautioned Tinubu against encouraging tribal and religious sentiments or politics in governance. He said: “We need peace in our nation. Nigerians want and deserve better living.
“Be careful of people who whip religious sentiments as advisers or people who are bent on dividing us via tribal or religious lines.”He, however, stressed the need for youths with good and better ideas to be given low-interest rates loan to start small businesses.
He added that arbitrary charges by banks on transactions must be addressed. Ogunseye urged the church to return to the old practice where communal and committed love for one another was in place. He also said the practice of soul winning must be taken seriously.
