A cleric with the International Assembly (IA), the True Jesus Church, Hong-Hsiung Ko, has charged newly ordained ministers and workers to protect the members.

He made the call at the weekend during the third ordination and dedication of the True Jesus Church, Elimgbu Oro-igwe, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Hsiung Ko said, service to God makes the workers to be shepherds, whose duty it is to take care of the sheep and protect them.

The newly ordained ministers include Ini Monday Umoh and Loveday Monday.

Hsiung Ko said: “In serving God, a lot is required from you, because you would be required to take care of yourself and the people that God has put you in charge of. You have the responsibility of protecting them and also praying for them.”

He explained that the most important thing of being ordained is to take care of the sheep, so that no one would wander away.

Congratulating the newly ordained ministers, Deaconess Martha Wutche, reminded them that serving God is not as easy as it is being said.

“To serve God is not an easy thing, it is a cross and a burden, do not try to please anyone, but instead, please God and put him first at all times. Please be mindful of the fact that the people who you please would be the first to judge you when a mistake occurs,” she said.
