Clerics task Nigerians on obedience to God

Two Christian clergymen have charged Nigerians to obey Gods’ word for the country to move forward.

They are the Anglican Bishop of Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Rt. Rev. Duke T, Akamisoko, and Apostle M.T.O. Oki, General Overseer and President, Christ Chosen Deliverance Church, Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Akamisoko gave the charge in his sermon at the St Andrews Anglican Church, Obosi, Anambra State, during the synod of the diocese on the Niger, as he urged Nigerians to avoid whatever would hinder them from obeying God.

‘To obey is better than sacrifice,’ was the message of the cleric who said that “without obedience to the word of God, we can not receive his blessings.”

The occasion was attended by Anambra State Governor, Dr. Willie Obiano (represented by his deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke); his predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi; former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku; erstwhile Vice President Alex Ekwueme, a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka; and Corps Marshall, FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi as well as several other clergymen and National Assembly members.

The Bishop of the Niger Province, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo Chiedozie, commissioned the Juliana Obumnwe Chidoka Hall donated to the church by the Chidoka family.

In a sermon entitled, “The Dry Bones in the Church,” during a service in Irri Oki while admonishing Christians from Ezekiel 37 1 – 10 said people who are proactive about situations ahead of time would avoid impending doom.
