The immediate state Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Isaac Kekemeke, has urged the State Executive Council of the party to reconcile all factions ahead of the October 10, 2020 governorship election in the state.

Kekemeke, who is an aspirant in the upcoming governorship poll, spoke with journalists in Akure yesterday.

He said: “I believe APC is strong enough to win any election in this state.

“The problem we have is that there are so many silent members, who are inactive and largely excluded.

“And that is the reason we have been advocating that members should shoot their shots and let all of us belong to this house that is APC. We used to be one in 2014 and 2016 when I provided leadership.”

In another development, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) elders and stakeholders led by former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has endorsed the candidature of former Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Bisi Kolawole, as the preferred candidate to replace the incumbent Chairman, Gboyega Oguntuase, at the congress of the party slated for April 2, 2020.

The elders also endorsed the candidature of Mr. Joseph Omolase as the preferred secretary.

However, in a communique after the meeting of the elders and stakeholders at the weekend, Chief Idowu Odeyemi from the South-West Caucus, said that the decision to endorse Kolawole was taken after consultation across the length and breadth of the state.

Odeyemi allayed the fear that what the elders have done amounted to an imposition.

Meanwhile, Fayose while fielding questions from newsmen, said he openly supported Kolawole, saying: “We are not doing this to score any point; we are only looking for somebody who can manage our party vis-a-vis the fact that we don’t have a sitting governor.”
