Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has revealed that Funke Akindele emptied her bank account to save her mother from dying of fibroid.

Toyo Baby, as fondly called in the popular TV series Jenifer, spoke against recent accusations that Funke Akindele does not support her colleagues in the industry.

In an Instagram post, she highlighted how many times the actress was good to her colleagues in the industry.

“My mum would have died of fibroid years ago, had you not emptied your account to make sure that she was taken to a private hospital and treated immediately,” she said.

Recently Funke Akindele has come under heavy criticism by some who feel she does not care about her colleagues and friends, citing the death of Adejumoke Aderounmu of the Jenifer series.

Adejumoke’s brother accused the “Tribe Of Judah” producer of neglecting her sister when she needed her the most leading to her eventual death, he went as far as Calling her a “hypocrite”.

Toyo posted a picture of herself and the actress also said; “You do a lot of good but you don’t post about it, you don’t do it for publicity, a lot of people are on your payroll, you have done so much, instagram caption would not be enough to talk about it.”

Meanwhile, Funke Akindele has reacted to the allegations in a live Instagram session on Tuesday.

“People say ‘she doesn’t support her colleagues, she doesn’t attend events’, I live in Amen Estate, that’s where my studio is. Before I drive down to Ikoyi Lekki for an event, dem no go don finish the event?

“Please, I don’t beef with any filmmaker, I do my thing, I face where I am going, the records I’ve been able to break are by the grace of God. Don’t forget I’ve got my trying moments. During COVID remember? My mum passed on, politics, I was backlashes, marriage remember?”

She also reacted to the accusations by Adejumoke’s brother of neglecting his sister during her trying periods.

“I sent a message to that guy, Jumoke’s brother, he saw it, but he didn’t reply. I said ‘oh I’m sorry sorry I didn’t hear, I don’t know anything about your sister.”
