Christians have been told to pick up their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to enable them vote for God-fearing leaders, who will uphold Christianity in governance.

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, made the call on Sunday during the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Grace and Power Gospel Mission, Uyo, which coincided with the induction of three female senior ministers of the Church into the College of Reverend Ministers. The Director of Archives in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Rev (Mrs) Eunice Chris Egharevba, was one of those inducted.

Ememobong, who congratulated the church on its anniversary, urged members and the entire Christian community in the state and Nigeria to sustain the Christian faith by living up to their civic responsibility of voting in Christian leaders, who will entrench Godly virtues in government.

He expressed happiness at the crop of Christians groomed by the Church, especially Mrs Egharevba, whom he described as a shining light in the Ministry and the state and wished both the church and the newly inducted ministers success in their ministry.

Earlier, the National President of Grace and Power Gospel Mission Inc, Most Revd Joseph Orok, accompanied by his wife, Rev Enobong, enumerated the achievements of the church in the past 25 years.

In his homily, with the theme, “Broaden the Vision”, drawn from Deutronomy 1: 6-8 and Psalm 1:24, the Guest Minister, Rev (Dr.) John Obot, admonished the inducted ministers to keep their vision alive by holding firmly unto God as there are bound to be fresh challenges in their elevated ecclesiastical calling.
