Come back home, Adebola Williams charges Africans in the Diaspora

Adebola Williams has charged Africans in the Diaspora to become like water to the continent. He stated this at the 8th edition of Face Africa’s Wash Gala in New York, United States of America.

Williams, who gave the keynote, charged over 500 guests to be angry at the state of things on the continent, angry enough to carry an African agenda in all they do, because the continent is also their business.

He urged them to correct negative stereotypes about the continent, because ultimately, they are water that will wet the continent so it can flourish.

He said, “first, send a pipe of water home, then eventually, return with the full tank to come and build your own home, your own dream

Williams reminded them that if the bans in America continues and takes effect on Africa where would they go? Europe? To yet another mans land? “We need to begin to fix our home not just for ourselves but the generations unborn.”

Williams, a founding Partner RED, CEO Red Media Africa and StateCraft Inc., was recently profiled by Forbes for helping three African presidents consecutively. He is a President Obama Mandela Washington Fellow, a British Council Global Changemaker and CNBC Young Business Leaders award recipient. He was named “Evangelist of the Future” at the C4F Davos Awards 2017 and most recently named one of the Most Influential People of African decent in a decade by the United Nations

Founded by Saran Kaba Jones, Face Africa has completed several clean water and community health projects across Liberia that have succeeded at bringing life-changing programs to more than 100,000 people.

In 2017, the board expanded its outreach to Nigeria with a plan to replicate and achieve even more already done in Liberia.
