“I AM in a thick storm, please help!” so pleaded John Obiegba, the father of Comfort Obiegba, a JSS III student of Crescent International School, Sango-Otta in Ogun State.

John made this plea on a recent visit to The Guardian with his ailing daughter.

The ailment, which according to Obeigba started like ordinary headache, but later developed to severe eye pains, noise in the ear and weakness of the body, has drained the family’s lean financial resources. “We have been struggling with the illness for over a year, moving from one hospital to another.”

John who has been out of work for a long time, lamented that he had spent his entire life savings, and is now heavily indebted: “I am indebted to many people and have sold out virtually all my assets all in a quest to cure her, but much more is still needed”. After several tests at the General Hospital at Ile-Epo, Lagos, the Lagos State Teaching hospital (LASUTH) and Me Cure Health Care Limited, Oshodi, Lagos, it was diagnosed that Comfort has brain tumour which has caused a swelling of her paretal bone (on the head), and requires N5,000, 000 for surgical operation.

“The pain is excruciating and she can hardly sleep at night once it starts, every member of my family would remain awake till dawn,” the distraught father explained.

Comfort Obiegba, who due to the ailment missed her Junior Secondary School (JSS) certificate final examination, is calling on all well meaning Nigerians, good spirited individuals and corporate organizations to come to her aid.

“Please I don’t want to die, help and save my life. I am now a burden to my family, especially my siblings as all the money is being channelled towards my health care,” she pleaded.

Anyone who wishes to help Comfort should please reach her father John Obiegba through 08033897517, 09099371168 or pay into Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) A/C No. 0019178308
