Communal crises: CDD to equip clerics with peace-building skills
Saddened by constant ethnic, religious crises and social vices rocking the country, the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), yesterday, stormed Adamawa State for a three-day capacity building workshop for Islamic clerics.
CDD, at the state Muslim Council Secretariat, in Yola, said the initiative would prepare communities for peace building and reconciliation.
CDD spokesperson, Steve Amuda said Nigerians were tired of frustrating news and Nigerians not tolerating one another.
“We are preparing religious leaders on how to coexist. We are concerned about how to ensure that clerics take peace messages to their people at the grassroots, so that unwarranted killings could stop,” Steven said.
