A yet-to-be-identified woman was crushed to death by a container that fell off a truck in the Upper Iweka area of Anambra state.

According to a post made by CoalCity Connect on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, a 40ft container fell from a rolling trailer at EzeIweka area, Upper Iweka BusStop, along the Onitsha-Owerri Road and crushed the woman to death.

“The tragic incident occurred when the truck parked by the roadside while goods were being offloaded suddenly started moving, and the driver was not in the vehicle at that time,” CoalCity Connect stated.

It added that the 40ft container it was carrying then fell and crushed the victim who was by the roadside to death.

It was learnt that more casualties were averted as traders who noticed the moving truck quickly fled the scene.
