The Federal High Court, Abuja, yesterday, refused to grant the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s application for a warrant to arrest former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu held that an affidavit to proof that the earlier court summon granted the agency had failed in the extradition of Alison-Madueke must be filed by the commission before another request could be honoured.

She noted that EFCC had informed the court that the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (OAGF) hinted that the warrant was needed to further empower the International Police (Interpol) to return the defendant to Nigeria to address charges against her.
