Court grants community’s demand to use disputed praying ground

RELIEF came the way of the Muslim community of Ayobo and its environs over the Eid praying ground allegedly sold by one Alhaji Abu Kazeem Iginla as the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja restrained him (Iginla) and his privies to allow the community use the land for prayers today in celebration of end of Ramadan fasting.

The presiding judge, Justice Ganiyu Gafar Safari ruling on a motion ex-parte filed by the claimant counsel, Chief Wakeel Olawale Liady said he has listened to the argument of the lawyer and ordered that the parties should maintain status quo antebellum.

In support of the motion ex-parte is 31 paragraph affidavit deposed to by Chief Isa Musa Arikewuyo dated July 9, 2015.

He therefore adjourned till July 21, 2015 for hearing motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

The claimants in the suit are Chief Imam Isa Musa Arikewuyo, Hassan Abudulahi, Chief Imam Ibrahim Ojoijo, Chief Sikiru Ayedogbon and Alh. Tawakalitu Afoso suing for themselves and on behalf of the Ayobo
