Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja yesterday sentenced a middle-aged man, George Augustine Orhaware, to two years imprisonment for stealing a car worth N2.3 million. The convict was sentenced after pleading guilty to the two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing brought against him by the Police.

Orhaware, 39, was said to have conspired with others at large on the morning of December 7, 2015 at No. 4, Rev Adedorah Close, Ikeja, to steal one Toyota Sienna car with registration number KJA 407 DC valued at N2,300,000, which is property of one Rosemary Aigoro.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Emuerhi Benson, informed the court that the offence committed is punishable under Section 285 (10) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. After his plea of guilty, the presiding magistrate, Mrs. O.A Olayinka, sentenced the defendant to one-year imprisonment on each of the count.
