The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Nwodibo Ekechukwu, has congratulated the command’s Sports Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, on his appointment as member of the ad-hoc Governing Committee by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

This is contained in a statement in Enugu by Amarizu who is also the Police Public Relations Officer of the command and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday.

NAN reports that the NFF at a recent meeting appointed Amaraizu the Manager of Crime Buster FC of Enugu and as a member of the committee to oversee the affairs of the Nigeria Nationwide League One.

The statement quoted Nwodibo as saying that Amaraizu’s appointment was as a good thing for the Nigeria Police.

“It is a good thing that our sports officer was deemed fit to occupy such an elevated position in football administration in the country.

“I have no doubt that Amaraizu will bring his wealth of experience in sports administration to bear on his new appointment.

“NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, in his letter of appointment described Amaraizu’s appointment as a result of the high level of confidence that the NFF Executive Committee reposed in him.

“We strongly believe that Amaraizu will justify this confidence by working diligently with other members of the committee to take decisions that are in the best interest of Nigerian football,’’ it said.
