Cross River loses another ex-deputy gov, Eneji
FORMER Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Dr Walter Eneji, is dead.
Eneji who served under Governor Donald Duke after the impeachment of the then deputy governor, the late Chief John Okpa, was said to have died in his sleep last Wednesday in London during a protracted sickness.
He was deputy governor from February 2003 to May 2007.
The late Eneji contested the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries with erstwhile Governor Liyel Imoke, which he lost.
His death is coming on the heel of the preparation for the burial of yet another deputy governor, Dr Mathais Ofoboche who died three weeks ago in Abuja.
Ofobeche was deputy to the late Dr. Clement Isong in 1979.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Ita, confirmed the incident.
