The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Monday Igbuya, yesterday paid tribute to the sterling contribution of Senator David Dafinone to democracy, describing him as an inspiration to many Nigerians.

In a statement issued in Sapele, Igbuya, who congratulated Dafinone on his 89th birthday, praised the renowned accountant, entrepreneur, political leader and elder statesman for his tireless service to the nation.

He commended Dafinone for his significant contributions to the Urhobo nation over the years and for bringing great pride to Nigeria through the accounting profession.

Meanwhile, Igbuya also commiserated with the family of Nigeria’s First Republic Finance Minister, Chief Festus Okotie- Eboh, over the demise of Lawrence Okotie-Eboh.

Igbuya described the death of Mr. Lawrence Okotie-Eboh as a loss, not only for the Okotie-Eboh family alone, but the entire Sapele people.
