Death Toll From Attack On Shi’ite now 22

THE death toll from the blast targeted at Shi’ite followers, two days ago, has risen to 22, from 21 that were reported yesterday. No fewer than 38 members of the group also sustained injuries. The Shi’ite followers were trekking from Kano to Zaria.

THE death toll from the blast targeted at Shi’ite followers, two days ago, has risen to 22, from 21 that were reported yesterday. No fewer than 38 members of the group also sustained injuries. The Shi’ite followers were trekking from Kano to Zaria.

Among the number of the injured victims, 27 were admitted at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano, while 17 were taken to Nassarawa Specialist Hospital, according to a source close to the leadership of the Shi’ite sect in Kano.

Despites the tragedy, the sect members continued their procession, and had reached Gwarmai in Bebeji local government of Kano state as at the time of this report

Malam Muhammad Turi, the Shi’ite leader in Kano, and who was leading the procession said that what happened was not of any surprise to them.
