Declare April 29 intercessory prayer day, says Atilade
The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Southwest Regional Chapter, Archbishop Magnus Atilade has called on government and religious organisations to declare Friday, April 29, a day for sustained intercessory prayers for Nigeria.
The Archbishop, who disclosed that his organisation plans to hold theirs at the National Staduim, Suru-Lere, Lagos, noted that the prayer would begin from 5am to 9pm. He wants other religious groups to do same, especially as the country would in a few days celebrate another Democracy Day.
The cleric noted that the problems with Nigeria is beyond what government alone can handle, adding that combining prayers with positive actions would move God’s hand and give our leaders the vision and wisdom to handle all difficult situations.
Addressing the press on the state of the nation, organised by the Christian Welfare initiative (CWI), Atilade revealed that some people from outside the country have at different times called him to say that there is an evil cloud covering Nigeria, which is the reason nothing seems to work in the country.
