Indigenes of Ugwu Ozawa community in Illah, Delta State, have called on the state government to come to their aid over the sorry state of the primary school located along Upkologwu, Illah by Otu Agbor along the River Niger, which has since become unusable for pupils.

The school is said to be in a derelict and completely dysfunctional state. A community leader, Ogbuenyi Afam Okolo Aguobodo, lamenting the deplorable condition of the school, said if urgent steps are not taken, the school will be completely abandoned and children from the various villages will be shut out of school.

“This matter should be of concern to all Illah sons and daughters as well as all affected by the possible collapse of the school,” he said while calling on illustrious sons of the community like Dr. Andy Ilabor and Frank Esenwah among others to wade in.
