GOVERNOR Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has received the mandate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the December 5 governorship election in the state.

At the party’s primaries in Yenagoa, the Chairman of the National Electoral Panel for Bayelsa State governorship primaries and Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose declared Dickson winner with 447 votes out of the 452 votes cast by 476 accredited delegates drawn from 105 wards across the eight local councils of the state
Fayose added that five votes were void, noting that the exercise was conducted in an atmosphere of sincerity and transparency

“By the power conferred on me as the chairman of the panel, Dickson is hereby retuned as PDP governorship candidate for the Dec 5th poll,” Fayose said.

In his post-victory speech, the governor told the gathering that “ power do not come, power also do not come from the East, West, South or North, but only from God”

He reiterated his earlier boast that his party would rout the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) at the poll.
