Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), has appealed to youths in the state to shun the planned nationwide protest

Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), has appealed to youths in the state to shun the planned nationwide protest but pray and allow total healing of the land after suffering several attacks in recent past.

Chairman of SKCLA and Vision Pioneer Throneroom Trust Ministry Kafanchan, Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure made the call at a special Thanksgiving service for elected and appointed public office holders from Southern Kaduna, in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria, Southern Kaduna Zone held on Sunday in Kafanchan.

Apostle Kure explained that though the region is also experiencing hunger and harsh economic realities, it is not wise to join a protest that might be hijacked by enemies of the land to cause a crisis which will jeopardize the healing process in the land.

He appealed to the people to give the federal government more time to fix the decay caused by past administrations, especially now that the current government has started giving people of Southern Kaduna hope and inclusivity in appointments and project execution.

Speaking at the Thanksgiving service, Vice Chairman of SKCLA and Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Most Rev. Julius Yakubu Kundi, explained during the program with the theme; “the hands of thanksgiving and prayer” that it was deliberately organised to remind the elected and appointed officers from the area on the heavy moral burden they carry to represent the people.

“We invited you here today to pray for you and to chart a new path on how we can bring our people together so that we can align our goals, hopes and aspirations to the objectives of the modern-day politics which you are already actively involved in.”

“We are worried about the disunity that exists among you the political elites; a problem which we see as scandalous and has hampered the growth of our people. Our desire in this Service of Thanksgiving is to bless and entrust you into the hands of God for divine direction on how to manage these differences amongst yourselves and the Political Parties in Southern Kaduna.”

Meanwhile, the Guest Speaker and ECWA President, Reverend Job Ayuba Bagat Mallam charged elected and appointed officers to be faithful in all they do, as he urged them to “take their work seriously and chart a new course for the people of Southern Kaduna to give them a new lease of life.”

Responding on behalf of other elected and appointed officers, the Member representing Zango Kataf Jaba Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr Amos Gwamna Magaji commended SKCLA for organizing the Thanksgiving and prayer program, describing it as uncommon.

Amos said the development has further cemented their relationship as elected and appointed Representatives from one zone.

He used the occasion to appeal to people of the area to shun August 1 planned protest given the unpleasant consequences if it is hijacked by hoodlums.
