A Lagos-based organisation, Project Alert on Violence Against Women, has frowned at the alleged sexual harassment in Queens College, Lagos.

The founder of the organisation, Mrs. Josephine Effah-Chukwuma said “ we are indeed shocked and condemn the action of the school management, where students were brought out to protest against the sexual abuse allegation against the Biology teacher, Mr. Owoseni Osifala. If found guilty, the maximum punishment as stipulated in the criminal code should be given to Osifala,” she said.

However, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Princess Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, has urged those accusing Osifala of sexual harassment to come out of hiding. At a recent briefing, she said the victims’ testimonies were necessary, particularly as the school has refused to cooperate with the ministry.
