A Nigerian scholar and international researcher, Dr Ernest Jebolise Chukwuka, of the University of Delta, Agbor, has received global recognition for his pioneering work in the field of Management, culminating in the formulation of the Entrepreneurial Wealth Creation theory, a model designed to demonstrate how individuals can create wealth with minimal financial input.
Chukwuka, who has published over 60 impactful research publications and several best-selling books, unveiled this theory after a rigorous academic investigation into the mechanics of entrepreneurship.
According to him, the model offers a practical roadmap for aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those in resource-constrained environments, to identify societal problems and convert them into viable business opportunities.
Speaking on the essence of the theory in recent interview, Dr Chukwuka explained, “The Entrepreneurial Wealth Creation theory is built on the foundational understanding that wealth creation begins not with money, but with identifying societal problems and creatively solving them. This model is represented by an acronym called POSMOW.”
POSMOW, an acronym central to his research, stands for Problems, Opportunities, Solutions, Monetary rewards, and Wealth. He elaborated: “P stands for Problems in society; O for Opportunity identification and exploitation; S represents Solution offering in the form of products or services; M denotes Monetary reward; and W is the Wealth that is created through profitable reinvestment.”
In an earlier landmark study, Chukwuka also addressed the global crisis of climate change and biodiversity degradation. Through his research, he led the research on Ecopreneurship, describing it as an entrepreneurial model designed specifically to drive environmental sustainability while resolving biodiversity challenges.
“Ecopreneurship is a strategic solution to environmental and biodiversity issues. Entrepreneurs must be positioned not just as wealth creators, but as environmental stewards,” Dr Chukwuka told The Guardian. His research advocates for business models that integrate ecological responsibility with profitability.
These groundbreaking works have not only advanced academic discourse globally but also elevated Nigeria’s reputation in the international scholarly community. His publications are widely cited as shown on Google Scholar citation index, which have earned him recognition and respect among peers in management sciences and environmental studies.
The scholar, who currently lectures at the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, University of Delta, Agbor, emphasised the need for African universities and governments to fund and promote indigenous research. “We must begin to value and invest in intellectual property coming from Nigeria and Africa. The solutions to many of our challenges lie within our borders,” he said.
Chukwuka’s wealth creation theory and ecopreneurship model are already being studied in various business schools and are influencing policy discussions on entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability. With his track record, many believe his work could become a cornerstone in reshaping economic and environmental strategy in emerging economies.
As his academic influence continues to grow, Dr. Chukwuka, who is also the head of the department of his University, has reiterated his commitment to mentoring young African scholars. “Research should not only end in publications. It must solve real-world problems,” he said, adding that he hopes his models will inspire a generation of problem-solvers across the continent.
