Immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyiola Omisore, and a priest of the Seventh Day Adventist, Pastor David Adewuyi, have underscored the importance of love in nation building.

According to them, love remains the most essential fabric that knits a country together, taking prominence over divisive tendencies. The duo were also of the opinion that violence, wars, insecurity, suffering, wants and other forms of adversity confronting the nation and the world today were the consequences of absence or fake love.

They spoke at the weekend in Osogbo during the traditional wedding ceremony of  Tolulope, daughter of the Provost of ICPC Academy, Prof. Olatunde Babawale.

The two speakers blamed banditry, kidnapping, communal killings and other ethno-religious crises ravaging the country on lack of love, which they traced to the family level.

The celebrant, Babawale, while reinforcing the position of the speakers, drew a nexus between love at the family level, the country at large and, by extension, the entire world, and stressed that there was a symbiotic connectivity between homes and the general malaise bedeviling the country today.

According to them, a people, a nation and a religion that place premium on love would unite against hatred and seek the promotion of mutual peace for fellow human beings.
