Draw Closer To God, Cleric Tells Nigerians

Blames Perennial Fuel Crisis On Past Leaders

THE former Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel and the General Overseer, All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM), Rev. William Okoye has said that Nigeria needs God in order to surmount the various challenges confronting it.

He attributed the persistent fuel scarcity in the country to irresponsibility on the part of our past leaders for many years.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday during the church service to commemorate 2015 Christmas celebration, Okoye noted that the fuel crisis in the country can be taken care of “if you have honest committed leadership who think more of the people than they think of themselves,” adding that “a lot of things need to be put in place for the problem to be resolved.”

He added: “The fuel scarcity you know did not start with the present administration. It has been a long-standing challenge. It is just like power; that is electricity. Like I said often, it is irresponsibility on the part of our past leaders for many years.

“I am trusting God with the promises of the present administration where they are talking about the corruption, which I said it should be holistic not be one sided, it should be touched,” he added.

The cleric urged Nigerians to draw closer to God as to attract his abiding presence in their lives.

According to him, the greatest act anybody and any Nigerian can have at this time is to have God on his side.

“I am pleading with every Nigerian to know that your greatness is to let God be on your side and to draw closer to him.”
