DSS parades suspected kidnapper, others in Imo

Department-of-State-of-State-Service-DSSAFTER several attempts, security agencies finally arrested a suspected notorious kidnapper in Imo State, Henry Chibueze (28), also known as Vampire, and members of his gang, all paraded by the Department of State Security (DSS) on Tuesday at the agency’s office.

Chibueze was trailed to Ohafia, Abia State, where he eventually arrested, according to the Director of DSS, Francis Ejiofor, while local and foreign currencies, and a gun, which were also displayed, were allegedly recovered from them.

The suspected rapist of an undergraduate of Nekede Polytechnic was also paraded with them. Chibueze, who Ejiofor said confessed to killing over 300 Nigerians, including his girlfriend and three brothers, was arrested alongside the proprietor of Honey Moon Hotel, near Owerri, an army deserter, Akin Bello, a nurse, and a man said to be his native doctor.

Ejiofor disclosed that Chibueze was planning to kidnap some judges who were lodging at Disney Hotel in Owerri, on getting the information, the DSS went after him but he escaped. According to Ejiofor, he confessed that after collecting ransom from his victims, he kills them.

Among his victims were Imo government officials, including the permanent secretary and principal secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, and a commissioner in the Imo House of Assembly Service Commission.

He further confessed to have collected from victims over N165 million, N45 million of which his girlfriend allegedly stole from him that prompted her murder.

He equally alleged giving Bello N500,000 after an operation to appease him. According to him, one of his victims was a woman they dispossessed of a Range Rover SUV and N15 million in Imo and later killed her after collecting a N110 million ransom.

After listening to Chibueze’s confession, Okorocha asked the DSS to release on bail the nurse who claimed to have treated him ignorantly and the other lady.
