The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Delta State has deployed no fewer than 956 personnel across the state in a bid to guarantee a hitch-free Easter celebration in the State.
The State Commandant, Igbo Chinedu, announced the deployment as part of a “swift response” strategy targeting identified black spots and flashpoints across Delta.
The personnel are expected to secure public spaces, critical infrastructure, and communities that historically experience spikes in criminal activity during holidays.
Addressing officers before the deployment, Chinedu stressed the importance of professionalism and operational discipline, urging personnel to go beyond routine patrols by aligning intelligence with proactive action.
He further charged officers to prioritise the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, a mandate central to the NSCDC’s role, particularly in a state like Delta where oil facilities and public utilities remain frequent targets of vandalism.
While the Commandant expressed confidence in the Corps’ preparedness, assuring residents of a crime-free Easter celebration.
Chinedu also emphasised inter-agency collaboration, noting that NSCDC personnel would work in synergy with other security outfits.
He, however, assured residents “celebrate without fear” as all hot spots are fully man by our personnel.
