Edo dismisses rumoured screening of pensioners
Edo State Government has dismissed rumours that the government is conducting a screening exercise for pensioners in the state.
In a statement, the Functioning Permanent Secretary/Chairman, Edo State Pension Bureau, Abbe Osaro Washington, described the news as false and should be disregarded.
He said: “The attention of the Edo State Government has been drawn to rumours making the rounds that government has embarked on a screening exercise for pensioners in the state. The news is false and should be disregarded.
“The state government recently carried out a screening exercise for pensioners in the state, which is still very much up to date, hence there is no need for fresh screening now.
“Pensioners and members of the general public are urged to disregard the false story and go about their normal businesses.”
