The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun uploading the Edo governorship results from polling units on its online portal.

The INEC Result Viewing Portal (IREV) is a dedicated public portal, that enables voters to view polling unit results real-time as the voting ends on election day.

Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee had said the move was to further strengthen the transparency in the election result management system which has remained a major source of mistrust in Nigeria’s electoral process.

Checks by The Guardian revealed that at 4.20pm, over 40 results from polling units across the 18 Local government areas of the state had been uploaded on the portal.
