As the call for the removal of the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun continues with a group from delta state adding their voice to the call, an Edo state based group; Concerned Edo Leaders of Thought (CELT)yesterday declared their support for the APC chairman saying the call for his removal or resignation was based on the selfish interest of those agitating for it.

A statement by the group signed by its President, Col Paul Ogbebor (rtd) and made available to journalists yesterday particularly described the position of the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as unrealistic.

On the controversies that trailed the party’s primary election in Ondo state, the group said the allegation of compromise are fathomed “to force the chairman out of office through the use of amorphous organisations”

The statement said that “Nigerians are aware that no one can be blamed for the current problems besetting the APC and indeed the nation’s economy. To do otherwise is an attempt to give a dog name in order to hang it.”

He said those agitating for the removal of Odigie-Oyegun over the Ondo primaries should have explored or encourage the aggrieved to explore political and legal remedies allowed by the party’s constitution to redress any “real or perceived infraction.
