The monarch, who made the pledge at the weekend in Auchi during the ninth edition of the yearly Auchi Day Celebration, also promised another N5 million donation for the various Islamic groups as part of his commitment to Islamic development.

Momoh urged the forum to emulate the virtues of Prophet Mohammed, stressing the need for unity and religious tolerance among Muslims and Christians.

“Since our society is multi-religious, Muslims should practise Islam actively, try to understand that there are other religions in Nigeria and be tolerant of them.

It is a well-known fact that Auchi had always enjoyed peace because of Muslims’ understanding, tolerance and love for the strangers in the town irrespective of their religious affiliations. That has been the secret of the rapid expansion, peace and tranquility in the town,” he said.

Meanwhile, the president, Association of Animal Hunters of Nigeria (AAHON), Comrade Ray Macaulay, says he has started the mobilisation of his members across the federation to get actively involved in anti-insurgency war counterparts if infused into the civilian JTF in the North East geopolitical zone.

Macaulay, in a statement yesterday in Benin City, said:  “I want to state categorically that I am fully in support of the request made by the hunters of Borno State. This indeed has added voice to our earlier request by hunters in the South to join their compatriots in the North to crush the terrorists once and for all.

“With this new call from that part of the country, I think the government should pay immediate attention to it and allow the hunters, not only those of Borno State but also others who have been yearning to join the military to put an end to the problem of terrorism for good.”
