Eid-El-Fitr: Yero calls for fervent prayers for state, Nigeria
A former Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Mukhtar Yero, has felicitated Muslims as they celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan Fasting.
Yero, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Yusuf Idris, called for sober reflection and fervent prayers for the state and the entire country as citizens continued to live in fear as a result of insecurity, poverty and poor social conditions.
The erstwhile governor urged Nigerians to continue to practise the virtues of humility and kindness to one another, as they were the cardinal principles of the Ramadan fasting.
He called on residents to intensify prayers for overall peace, stability and unity of the country.
Yero said that the month of Ramadan was a month that the Holy Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad and had come with a lot of lessons, which included dedication and sacrifice to the Almighty Allah.
He said at a time when Nigeria was facing security challenges, among other problems, it had become imperative for citizens to look inward and re-dedicate themselves to their creator.
He said this could be achieved through prayers and sincere acts of worship.
