Eid-el-Kabir: Govs, Adeola, TMC greet Muslims, urge peace

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated Muslim faithful in the state and across the country on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love, and peaceful coexistence as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

In his Sallah message, Abiodun said Eid-el-Kabir remains a significant spiritual occasion that teaches humanity the importance of faith, selflessness, tolerance, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.

The governor called on residents of the state to continue to live in peace and harmony, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences,.

He, however, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people through sustained investments in infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic development.

Also, the senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Solomon Adeola, has enjoined all Muslim faithful in his senatorial district and other Nigerians to pray for peace.

In his Sallah message to felicitate adherents of the Islamic faith, Adeola said a strict adherence to the teachings of Islam in the areas of sacrifice, love, brotherliness, piousness and peaceful coexistence would significantly assist Nigeria in consolidating the observable gains of the government agenda.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State chapter of The Muslim Congress (TMC) has called on the faithful to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and total submission to the will of Allah as exemplified by Prophets Ibrahim, Ismail, and Muhammad (SAW).

In a statement signed by the Waali of TMC, Dr Jamiu Folarin, the organisation noted that the Eid-Ul-Adha festival comes with profound lessons capable of addressing the spiritual, social, political, and economic challenges confronting the world today.
EKITI State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has also congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.

In a goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred festival of sacrifice, faith, and joy for the Muslim faithful.

The governor, therefore, urged Muslims to imbibe the core lesson of the festival, which is total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, noting that such devotion comes with immense spiritual rewards.

He further enjoined Muslims to celebrate the festival in moderation and to extend love and generosity to their neighbours, particularly the less privileged, in line with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.
