Eid el-Kabir: Oborevwori, Fubara felicitate with Muslims

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Rivers State counterpart, Siminalayi Fubara, have extended warm felicitations to Muslims in their states and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to offer special prayers for peace, unity, and the nation’s development.
 
Oborevwori, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, called on Muslim faithful to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and selflessness symbolised by the Eid el-Kabir celebration.
 
The governor encouraged Muslims to resume almsgiving, particularly to the poor, the needy, and other vulnerable members of society, describing charity as one of the fundamental principles of Islam.
 
He urged Nigerians to remain committed to serving humanity by sacrificing their time and resources in devotion to Allah and in support of one another, especially during challenging times.
 
On his part, Fubara urged Nigerians to embrace values that promote peaceful coexistence and national harmony.
 
He stated this while facilitating with the Muslim faithful in Rivers State and across the country on the occasion of Eid el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
 
Fubara described the celebration as a season of deep reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, generosity and unity.
 
The governor also expressed appreciation to the Muslim community for its contributions to the peace, economic growth and social harmony of Rivers State.
 
According to him, Eid al-Kabir should serve as an opportunity for both Muslims and non-Muslims to reaffirm their commitment to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and collective progress.
