Ooni hails Tinubu, other ex-govs on council autonomy in state
Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Monsuru Oloyede Bello, has completed the reconstruction of Ifoshi Road in Ejigbo, Lagos State, which was abandoned 26 years back.

Ifoshi Road was constructed in 1980 by Col. Muhammad Buba Marwa (rtd) to connect Idimu and its surrounding areas.

The road was commissioned, yesterday, by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and successive Lagos State governors for ensuring council autonomy in the state.

This, the monarch said, had led to great development at the grassroots in the state.

He said that the Ifoshi Road reconstruction would not have been possible if not for the autonomy the councils enjoy in the state.

The monarch, who urged other state governments to emulate Lagos State government by ensuring that councils enjoy financial autonomy, described the road as strategic in developing the council.

He thanked Tinubu for ensuring that councils get autonomy during his short term in office.

Bello said that the commissioning of the road demonstrated his commitment to fulfilling his promises during campaign.

He appealed to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, regarding the strategic restoration of Kayode Double Powerline and llamoshe Estate Canoe roads to further ease traffic not only within the community but give proper meaning to the two strategic terminal centres of Oshodi and International Airports of Ikeja.

He said that the current administration had established ways to sustain the confidence and trust that the entire Ejigbo residents repose in All Progressives Congress (APC).

He also appealed to residents, commercial bus drivers, shop and business owners, and all other road users to desist from parking and trading illegally on the road, or turning the roadways into illegal mechanic workshops.
