Ekiti APC, clerics, monarchs hail Fayemi’s nomination

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, religious and community leaders have hailed the ministerial nomination of the former governor of the State, Dr Kayode Fayemi by President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a reward for hard work and vision he exuded while working as governor of the state.
They urged Fayemi to continue to pursue his vision of human development as he takes appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Hailing his nomination, APC State Chairman, Olajide Awe, asked the Hailing former governor to strengthen the template for modern governance anchored on human development he established in Ekiti State to contribute his quota to national development.
Also, Catholic Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Most Reverend Felix Femi Ajakaye asked Fayemi to use his God-given gifts and talents to “concretely and meaningfully” make a positive impact in the service of the nation.
He enjoined the former governor “to continue to serve God in humanity with humility and to keep using your God-given talents for the common good”.
Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, Fayemi’s home town, Oba Sunday Ajiboye, said the brilliance and vision he demonstrated as the governor of Ekiti State between 2010 and 2014 posted landmark impacts unprecedented in the state’s development and enjoined him to demonstrate the same passion on the national scale for Nigeria’s development.
“This is a new beginning of greater heights in your life, which we believe you will exploit to advance the course of representative governance anchored on human development, which you championed over the years in your journey to political governance,” the monarch said.
To former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Director, Samuel Bandele Falegan, Fayemi’s nomination presented “the second time within five years that my joy is full to the brim”.
Meanwhile Fayemi has expressed surprise over his nomination as minister by the President saying he has no inkling about his nomination
“Well, to the extent that I was not told by the President that I was going to be on his list, yes, it came as a surprise. The president is a surprise master, let me put it that way”, he said
He also claimed that all party leaders including former governor of Lagos State, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu were happy with the nominees presented to the Senate for approval as ministers
