El-Rufai’s inauguration ends abruptly as youths disrupt proceedings
The inauguration of Gov. Nasir El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State ended abruptly on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that El-Rufai could not review the parade mounted by the police as some youths pelted dignitaries with water sachets, stones and other objects in the pavilion.
This prompted security agents to fire tear gas into the crowd at the Murtala Square, Kaduna.
NAN also reports that some dignitaries in the pavilion included the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, and other traditional rulers in the State.
The incident occurred when the new governor had concluded his address and was about to mount an open van to review the parade mounted by the police.
While the crowds were dispersed by the police, dignitaries remained seated, but the occasion ended abruptly without the governor reviewing the parade.
NAN reports that the Murtala Square was filled to capacity.

Shame on the PDP rented touts in Kaduna. On such historic day!!!The sooner you accept change, the better it will be for you and your sponsors.
You will continue to blame PDP even when your girlfriend dumps you for your best friend.
@Fuzio : > Other than PDP can you in your wildest imagination after results have been announced, winner declared and on inauguration day for invitees to be pelted with pure water…Common, you must be having a laugh(Clearly supporters of Namadi Sambo and Ramalan Yero).
El Rufai does not worth a spit,he just rode on the back of GMB to win election Kaduna state. He was DG BPE and later M inister of FCT,we all knew what he did in those offices. These guys are huge joke but it won’t be long before Nigerians would realise the kind of anarchy they are into.
We will review and take appropriate action.
