PE Energy Limited has concluded a 12-month Human Capital Development (HCD) training programme aimed at bridging Nigeria’s human capital gap in the energy sector.
The initiative, implemented in partnership with Chevron Nigeria Limited and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), provided participants with technical and vocational skills to excel in the industry.
The programme featured eight months of classroom instruction and four months of practical field training, focusing on real-world readiness, innovation, and professional ethics. Six outstanding graduates were immediately employed by PE Energy Limited, underscoring the company’s commitment to building sustainable local capacity.
Group CEO of PE Energy, Dr. Daere Akobo, described the initiative as a practical demonstration of the company’s philosophy.
“At PE Energy, we are not only supporting Nigerian content, we are building it. Through direct investments in human capital via PANA Academy, we are equipping Nigerian youths with future-proof skills to thrive and lead in the energy space,” he said.
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, represented by Mrs. Tarilate Teide-Bribena, commended PE Energy and PANA Academy for the efficient execution of the programme.
Engr. Nonso Echukwu, representing Chevron Nigeria Limited, expressed the company’s satisfaction with the training outcomes, while the Director of Human Resources at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. James Foli Odafe, lauded PE Energy’s efforts in advancing youth development in the Niger Delta and across Nigeria.
The graduation ceremony was attended by representatives from Chevron, NCDMB, NDDC, the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN), and several academic institutions, highlighting the programme’s broad impact and stakeholder engagement.
The initiative reflects PE Energy’s long-term commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and driving excellence in Nigeria’s energy sector.
