Enugu State Government has launched its Climate Policy, Action Plan, and Climate Education Manual as a guideline for securing sustainable climate resilient for the economic growth of the state, declaring that climate change is no longer a distant threat. 
    
Speaking at the launch held at the Old Government Lodge Enugu, Governor Peter Mbah disclosed that the threat of climate change is real, adding that it is already reshaping the environment, disrupting livelihoods, and challenging the collective aspirations for sustainable economic development.  
    
He said the Enugu State Climate Policy and Action Plan is, therefore, a bold and forward-thinking framework that outlined the state government’s vision and trajectory for a resilient, low-carbon, and prosperous future.
    
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Ifeanyi Ossai, the governor stated that the document represents a historic commitment by his administration to lead the way in climate action while fostering sustainable development, economic transformation, and social inclusivity.

MEANWHILE, Mbah, yesterday, flagged off the construction of 141 urban roads across 13 zones of the state capital, insisting residents of the city and Enugu State deserved nothing but the best.
    
The beneficiary zones are Abakpa, Achara Layout, Asata, Awkunanaw, Coal Camp, Independence Layout, New Haven, Old GRA, Thinkers Corner, Trans-Ekulu, and Uwani.
Performing the symbolic flag-off at Ologo under Coal Camp Zone Enugu North Local Council and Monaque Avenue in Awkunanaw Zone, Enugu South Local Council, the governor explained that the roads were part of his administration’s vision to eradicate poverty, grow the state’s economy to $30 billion.
