Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Hakan Cakil, has called on the Federal Government to close all Turkish schools in Nigeria.

He alleged that the schools are operating under a group called Fethullah Gulen Terrorist Organisation (FETO), founded by Fethullah Gulen, who has been accused of recent attempt to overthrow the government of the Republic of Turkey.

Hakan made the call, yesterday, when Senator Shehu Sanni paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, accusing the group of gathering information through wiretaps and blackmail.

He alleged that the schools are training students to become terrorists, and that the group has been hiding under the pretext of promoting interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence among cultures.

“The group has an extensive network of schools around the world. Schools and universities are used to indoctrinate students and recruit members. It is ironic that the Gulen group and it’s backers who aimed to overthrow a democratically elected government through a violent coup are now trying to misrepresent Turkey’s efforts to establish law and order and serve justice as political crackdown.”
