Establish State, Community Policing Now, Ex-Rep Urges Buhari
AS Nigeria reels under a wave of crime and criminality like armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, acts of vandalism of public infrastructure and terrorism, a former member of the House of Representatives, Abayomi Michael Ogunnusi, has reinstated his call for the establishment of state and community police structures across the country to stem the rising wave of criminal activities nationwide.
Ogunnusi, who represented Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency in the 7th Assembly, told reporters in Lagos that the country stood the risk of being overwhelmed by the activities of criminals if it continued to rely on the Nigeria Police alone to fight crime.
