Biafra-protestFormer speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr. Kanayo Enemuo, has called on the Federal Government to pay attention to the grievances which led to the recent demonstration by members of the (MASSOB) and Indigenous People of Biafra in some parts of the south east geo political zone with a view to mitigating further loss of lives and property to innocent Nigerians.

Enemuo who spoke to newsmen in Awka yesterday, while reacting to the recent loss of lives of some innocent Nigerians in Onitsha during demonstration by the pressure groups, said the casualty figures recorded in the protests were avoidable as negotiation would have averted the calamity.

He frowned at what he called leadership in the graveyard, warning that grievances are better displayed peacefully than forcefully which led to the unfortunate loss of lives of some Nigerians during the last fracas.

The former speaker warned against killing, maiming and destruction of peoples’ property, describing it as being against natural justice.
