Exhibition: KAFART, tech firm partners for visitors to view Kaduna museum with VR technology


The IT and Communications Officer of Kaduna Fashion and Art (KAFART), Alamin Yushau has announced a partnership with Greysoft Technologies to enable visitors to explore the Kaduna Museum through Virtual Reality technology at its upcoming 5th exhibition this November in Kaduna state.

The event slated for 10th to 12th of November aimed to highlight the craftsmanship that intersects art and fashion in Northern Nigeria and beyond. The exhibition will be a meeting point for traditional and contemporary arts, says Yuhsau.

The IT and Communications Officer in a statement said they collaborated with the technology firm for “Augmented and Virtual Reality experience in order to display the Nok Terracotta artifacts digitally and allow guests to experience the Kaduna Museum through VR Technology, as a way to bring the museum closer to visitors.”

Yushau who made the disclosure in a statement said the event themed: “Into The Art of Making” will feature an array of captivating activities, including Performances, Panel Sessions, exhibitions showcasing the works of emerging and established local and international artists and fashion designers, Film Screenings, Workshops and Masterclasses, and a Fashion Runway Show.

Yushau said, “The art exhibition created by NYH Concepts with the financial contribution of the European Union, the support of the OACPS Secretariat – Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States and Programme AWA was aimed at showcasing the vibrant fashion and art industry in Northern Nigeria and the wider region.

“At KAFART 2023, youths will have the opportunity to witness and participate in local craft work by skilled and experienced artisans. The exhibition will highlight cultural, environmental, and societal issues which will be represented by the art forms.

“KAFART has secured support from Sterling Bank and the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) , Abuja.

“With the participation of diverse vendors, visitors will have access to a wide range of products made by locals in the community, providing an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to expand their reach. Workshops and Masterclasses will offer aspiring artists and fashion enthusiasts the chance to refine their skills and learn from seasoned professionals.”

He however added that the KAFART 5th Editon slated for “10th to 12th of November 2023 will be graced by a number of personalities and guests from across the country and West Africa.

“KAFART 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience, showcasing the ingenuity, diversity, and brilliance of the art and fashion industry in Northern Nigeria and the Sahel region.”
