Hospital-wardA US trained medical practitioner, Dr Akeem Anifowoshe, has raised an outcry over the poor condition of the nation’s health system.

Anifowoshe, who is a member of Canadian Medical Association (CMA), Ontario Medical Association (OMA), Canadian Association of Nigerian Physician and Dentist (CANPAD) and Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), while speaking at the official opening ceremony of Kleinburg Medical Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, recently stated that his decision to return to Nigeria was to contribute his quota to the resuscitation of Nigeria’s health sector, which has been neglected by successive administrations.

According to him, poor funding and maladministration of the health sector has been the major challenges militating against the state of health system in the country. He also declared that inefficiency in Nigeria’s health sector is a hydra-headed monster that needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
